Bio

James is an Operating Partner with the TriSpan Group. James has over 25 years of experience with private equity owned companies, serving as Chairman for 16, CEO for 4, and a Board member for 27 companies. He has proven experience as an advisor in deal analysis and evaluation including due diligence and closings. James began his career at General Dynamics doing R&D in composite materials. He led engineering teams designing parts of the Space Shuttle, first Cruise Missiles and other defense weapons. On the F-16, James was the V.P. of Operations through the first 250 aircraft. He was V.P. of engineering on the Nuclear Submarine programs, including the Trident design. Subsequently he had successful management assignments at Rockwell, Schlumberger, and FMC. After his time with large public companies, James joined the private equity community, with involvement over a wide range of industrial companies. James graduated in engineering from the University of Iowa, and received M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from M.I.T. in engineering. He also received his M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
