Mr. Freeman co-founded Torch Lake Capital Partners after joining John Tomes in June 2002 to help form Hilco Equity and has 20 years of private equity and corporate finance experience. He currently serves as a director on the boards of Awrey Bakeries, LLC, Sioux-Preme Packing Co., Natural Food Holdings, LLC, Niman Ranch, Inc., and previously served as a director for Rx Label Technology Corp., J.W. Fergusson & Sons, LLC and Midwest Finishing Products, Inc. Previously, Mr. Freeman was a Vice President at Gryphon Investors, a $520 million private equity firm, where he focused on middle market leveraged buyout and build-up transactions as one of two vice presidents. Prior to Gryphon, he was a Vice President in GE Capital’s Merchant Banking Group where he structured, underwrote and led debt and equity investment transactions totaling more than $1 billion. He was also responsible for the opening of the GE Capital Merchant Banking Group’s offices in San Francisco in 1999. Prior to joining GE Capital, Mr. Freeman worked for Bank of America (previously NationsBank) for four years in the commercial and corporate lending and restructuring groups. He received a BS in finance with honors from Miami University and an MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
