Bio

Alex Wagenberg is a Managing Director advising Carlyle's funds on European buyout opportunities. Mr. Wagenberg joined Carlyle in 2000 and has been a Managing Director since 2008. Mr. Wagenberg has worked on a number of notable deals, including the acquisition and subsequent initial public offerings of Applus+ and Telecable in Spain; or the current partnership with the founding families of Logoplaste in Portugal and Jeanologia in Valencia; serving on each of their board of directors in different capacities. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Raventos Codorniu and CUPA, and in the past of Telecable and Grupo Palacios. Prior to joining Carlyle, Mr. Wagenberg spent six years in operational roles, among them as Chief Financial Officer of eDreams, Inc. in Barcelona, and Chief Executive Officer of Hilti's Inc. distribution business in Colombia. He also worked for seven years in the mergers and acquisitions department of Goldman Sachs, operating from their New York, London and Madrid offices. Mr. Wagenberg is a Phi Beta Kappa and magna cum laude graduate of Princeton University, with a degree in civil engineering and operations research.
