Jacob Smilovitz is a Principal at TCG. Prior to joining the firm, he served as the Vice President of Corporate Development and FP&A at The New York Times, where he focused on M&A, investments, and corporate strategy. In that role, he oversaw the company’s acquisitions of Wirecutter, a product-review company, Serial Productions, the podcasting company, Audm, an audio-subscription app, and two creative agencies. Prior to the Times, Jacob was a consultant at the Rosetta Consulting Group. He currently serves on the board of directors of Hodinkee, Zed.Run and Night Capital. Jacob was named a Forbes 30 Under 30 for media in 2018. Jacob is a graduate of the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and a BA in Political Science.
