After studying Business Economics & Finance at the University of Groningen, Daan worked for 4 years at Merrill Lynch & Co. in London and San Francisco. In 2002 he co-founded corporate finance boutique Chestnut. From 2003 to 2008, Chestnut was responsible for the successful restructuring of the NPM Small Caps investment portfolio. Daan has completed a wide range of acquisitions and financing transactions, including in the technology, industry and energy sectors, as well as co-founding and expanding some companies. In 2019, Daan made the switch to Synergia Capital Partners.
