Shiv helped establish the Group’s activities in Venezuela, Brazil and Argentina from 1985-1990, before moving to Moscow in 1990 to oversee the family’s activities in the Former Soviet Union. Shiv was operationally responsible for SUN’s foray into the beer and confectionery businesses in Russia and Ukraine and also for investments in Oil and Gas, Mining and Communications Electronics. He is the Chairman of the Indian representation to the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Business Council, a member of the BRICS Business Council and a member of the Russian Prime Minister’s Foreign Investment Advisory Council (FIAC). He was selected as a Global Leader for Tomorrow (now YGL), by the World Economic Forum in Davos. He was also awarded the Dr. Jean Mayer Global Citizenship Award by Tufts University. He has served on the Board of Overseers of the Wharton School and is currently on the board of the Lauder Institute and the Center for the Advanced Study of India (CASI) at the University of Pennsylvania. He also serves on the Board of Governors of Junior Achievement Worldwide, is a Trustee of the Foundation Leadership Council at United World College (South East Asia), and is a member of the Young Presidents Organisation’s Inter-Continental (YPO-IC) chapter. He is also Chairman of the Aikido Aikikai Foundation of India.
