Tom joined Summit Partners in 1997 as an Associate and today, as a Managing Director, co-heads the firm’s venture capital team. Tom's current investments and board directorships include Allego, Formative, MacStadium, NetBrain Technologies, Pluralsight and Zenoss. Tom’s prior experience includes A Cloud Guru (acquired by Pluralsight), Accedian Networks (acquired by Bridge Growth Partners), Anesthetix (acquired by TeamHealth), AvePoint (recapitalized by Goldman Sachs and TPG; NASDAQ: AVPT), Burst Media Corporation (AIM: BRST, later acquired by blinkx PLC), Clarabridge (acquired by Qualtrics), Commnet Wireless (acquired by Atlantic Tele-Network, Inc.), Fermentas International (acquired by Thermo Fisher Scientific), Hatcher Associates (acquired by Corillian Corporation), Hiperos (acquired by Opus Global), Immco Diagnostics (acquired by Trinity Biotech), Logi Analytics (acquired by Marlin Equity Partners), Mi9 Retail (acquired by General Atlantic), My Dentist Holdings (acquired by Heartland Dental Care), NetWitness Corporation (acquired by EMC Corporation), OB Hospitalist Group (acquired by Ares Management), Solid State Equipment (acquired by Veeco), Sage Telecom, Telerik (acquired by Progress Software) and Unica Corporation (NASDAQ: UNCA, later acquired by IBM). Prior to Summit, Tom worked as a software developer and consultant with Andersen Consulting (now Accenture). He holds an AB in economics and theology from Boston College, where he received the Scholar of the College award. Tom is a Trustee of the Massachusetts Soldiers Legacy Fund and a member of the Boston Children’s Hospital Philanthropic Board of Advisors.
