Bio

Prior to founding Strand Equity, Ted was founder and Chairman of APAC Customer Services, Inc. (“APAC”), a company he founded in 1973. At its beginning, APAC specialized in telephone sales of brokered radio and cable TV advertising time and, through Ted’s leadership, grew to be the largest and most successful business of its kind, representing over 1,500 radio stations nationwide. Realizing the potential for outsourcing, Ted sold the advertising business in 1992 and shifted his focus to providing outsourced customer service. Under his direction and stewardship, APAC was a pioneer employing over 25,000 people and remains a leader in providing outsourced solutions for a wide range of Fortune 500 clients. Ted took APAC public via an initial public offering in 1995 and sold the remainder of his shares to JP Morgan in 2011. Ted is also the Founder and Principal of Schwartz Capital Group. He founded Schwartz Capital Group, formerly TCS Group LLC, in 1996. At SCG, he focuses on the firm’s direct equity investment efforts and works extensively with portfolio companies on their customer strategies. Ted enjoys building businesses and mentoring management teams. In addition, he has been extensively involved in various philanthropic efforts. His interests include mixed martial arts, paddle boarding, traveling, and history
