Bio

John Ouren is an Operating Partner at STG. As a part of his Operating Partner role, John was most recently Executive Chairman of Simmons Research and led the creation of the MRI-Simmons joint venture between GfK and Simmons. Prior to his role at Simmons, John was the CEO of AlphaImpactRx where he grew EBITDA over 60% over his tenure. John successfully led the company to its sale to IMS Health in 2016 and remained with the company to achieve a successful transition. Before his time with STG, John was a senior executive at SurveyMonkey, where he spent twelve months successfully integrating the acquisition of Zoomerang, Zoompanel, and TrueSample, formerly of MarketTools, into the SurveyMonkey survey and audience platform. Prior to SurveyMonkey, he was EVP and General Manager of Zoompanel, Zoomerang, and TrueSample where he expanded and improved the performance of those businesses setting up a successful sale to SurveyMonkey. Prior to MarketTools, John was President and co-CEO of Goodmail Systems, a startup focused on disrupting the traditional commercial email space with a certified and secure email platform. Before he joined Goodmail, John was the EVP of Worldwide Field Operations at Digital Impact, an email marketing technology company sold to Acxiom Corporation. Before Digital Impact, John was a Senior Engagement Manager for Mckinsey & Company where he led studies on strategy and marketing for clients including Wells Fargo, ETrade, Intuit, and Apple Computer. John has a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas, Austin, and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. John currently serves on the boards of Escalent, MRI-Simmons, and Fishbowl.
