David Baker is a Managing Director in Acquisitions at Starwood Capital Group. In this role, Mr. Baker is responsible for investing in a variety of property types, with a geographic focus on the Western United States. He has been involved in both equity and debt investments in apartments, office, retail, and residential land asset classes, as well as purchases of distressed loan pools. Mr. Baker previously served as an Associate in Acquisitions at Starwood Capital from 2010–11, during which time he focused on investments in the Eastern United States. Before rejoining the Firm in 2014, he was a Senior Vice President at GEM Realty Capital and was previously with Lehman Brothers Real Estate Private Equity and Macquarie Capital Partners. Mr. Baker received an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a B.S. degree in finance from Tulane University.
