Bio

Alex Waterbury is a Managing Director and Head of U.S. Property Development at Starwood Capital Group. As a member of the U.S. Asset Management group, he oversees all ground-up development and asset repositioning opportunities for the firm with a team of construction and product development professionals. Prior to joining Starwood Capital in 2018, Mr. Waterbury held senior leadership positions with Lennar Multifamily Communities, Mill Creek Residential, and Trammell Crow Residential, where he was involved in the development of over 7,500 residential units throughout the Western US. He has additional commercial transactions and investment experience with Cushman & Wakefield, ATEL Capital, and Presidio Development Partners. Mr. Waterbury received a B.A. degree with honors from Northwestern University and an MBA from the Haas School at UC Berkeley.
