I’ve gathered my work and business experience in a variety of export industry firms. Since the 1980s, this experience has included Valmet’s paper machines, Wihuri’s plastic packages and Exel’s composite plastics. The tasks have involved both financial management positions and the position of a CEO. In each place, the focus has been on the growth of business, internationalisation and the acquisition of new units, from Europe all the way to Asia and Australia. For the past ten years, I’ve been gaining a fresh perspective into the day-to-day operations of business enterprises here at Sponsor, as we’ve guided and steered our portfolio companies towards new growth and profitability. The work and the situations involved are challenging, interesting and motivating, and they offer the best kicks whenever you can sit down with the management of a company and conclude that you were able to take care of something successfully.
