Bio

Mr. Brothers has over 30 years of experience as a private equity and distressed debt investor as well as a financial advisor specializing in M&A and financial restructurings. Mr. Brothers has been involved in the investment of over $1.5 billion in the equity and distressed debt of over 30 middle-market companies, and represented his firms on over 15 corporate boards of directors. Prior to co-founding Solace, Mr. Brothers developed a special situations private equity strategy for Saybrook Capital, LLC as Managing Partner and Portfolio Manager of its Corporate Opportunity Funds. Prior to Saybrook, Mr. Brothers was a Managing Director at Oaktree Capital Management and one of the original four senior members of Oaktree's Principal Opportunities Funds, which focus on private equity and distressed debt investments. Mr. Brothers began his career as an advisor on M&A and restructuring transactions at Salomon Brothers and Price Waterhouse. Mr. Brothers earned his MBA and BA degrees from Michigan State University after completing a five-year accelerated joint graduate/undergraduate program. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst, a Certified Public Accountant (inactive) and serves on the board of RAND Corporation Center for Global Risk and Security and the investment committee for City of Hope. Mr. Brothers is a member of the boards of Abbyson Living, CST Industries, Fabcon Precast, JEI Holdings and is Chairman of the Board of Patriot Environmental Services.
