Mara joined SkyKnight Capital in 2017. Mara runs business and operations for SkyKnight as COO and CCO, focuses on fundraising, and is on the SkyKnight Investment Committee. She is a member of the Board of Directors of AeroCare. Prior to SkyKnight, Mara was a Partner at Think Investments (2016-2017). She was a Partner at Marcato Capital Management (2010-2016), where she joined the firm pre-launch and helped build a $3.5 billion hedge fund business. Mara worked as a Senior Hedge Fund Analyst (2005-2010) at Mesirow Financial, sourcing and evaluating alternative asset managers. She began her career at The Northern Trust Company (2001-2005) as a Fixed Income Analyst. Mara received her B.A. in Economics from Northwestern University (2001) and is a CFA charterholder. In 2012, Mara co-founded the Bay Area Women’s Group, which organizes and hosts influential events with distinguished speakers to provide educational and networking opportunities to women in finance. She is on the Advisory Council of La Casa de las Madres, which offers shelter and support services to women and children at risk of abuse and domestic violence. She is also a Friends of the Bay Area Discovery Museum Board Member.
