Bio

Alex joined Silverfleet in 2017, and is jointly responsible with David MacKenzie for Silverfleet’s investment activities in the lower mid-market, most recently leading the acquisition of STAXS, and is currently a Non-Executive Director on its board. Alex started his private equity career in 1997, initially at 3i before moving to Barclays and a family office. In his ten years with Barclays' lower mid-market private equity investment division, he was latterly Co-Head of the business which managed more than 40 investments in the UK lower mid-market. Prior to 3i, Alex started his career in the audit and corporate restructuring departments of PwC. Alex is a Chartered Accountant and has a degree in Engineering from Durham University. Alex has an eclectic mix of interests, embracing motorcycles, coaching kids rugby, hobby farming (sheep, pigs and hens), as well as mountain hiking.
