Bio

Eddie is the President of the firm. Thirty years ago, private equity was still an unknown concept in Europe. But Eddie was able to recognize its value and potential, and thus became one of the key characters in its development. After seven years in the United States in the telecom industry, he joined Seven2 in 1991 where he was quickly involved in fundraising alongside Maurice Tchenio, founder of Seven2. Eddie is happy to have an exciting job, combining strategic thinking and operational management. Eddie has been President of the company for more than a decade and draws on a wide range of skills to assume multiple responsibilities, including building long-term and trusting relationships with investors, making reasoned investment decisions, and managing a team of diverse personalities. He also implements important strategic decisions for the company, creating key functions and positions (ESG, Debt, CDO), leveraging digital technologies, opening up new markets, and working to effect positive change around the world through the Apax Philanthropy Fund. Eddie’s admiration of skiing, hiking and crossword puzzles keeps him agile, both physically and mentally. He is also a member of the Friends Circle of the Brain Institute, with which he actively works to establish long-term capital. But one of Eddie’s greatest prides is obviously to have developed one of the best private equity companies in Europe. And he is determined to continue his momentum! After graduating from École Polytechnique in 1977, Eddie completed an MBA at Harvard Business School two years later. He began his career at McKinsey & Company, mainly involved in Tech & Telecom cases in Paris and Mexico City for five years, before working in the United States for the telecommunications group M/A-COM Inc. In 1991, Eddie joined Seven2 as Associate Director, in charge of investments in the Tech & Telecom sector. He was appointed President of AFIC (Association Française des Investisseurs pour la Croissance) from 2007 to 2008. He has been the president of Apax Partners (now Seven2) since 2010.
