Damien de Bettignies joined Apax Partners in 2007. He is currently a partner specialized in the Tech & Telecom sectors. Damien loves coaching managers of innovative companies to help them evolve into leaders in their sector and grow together. This mutual growth makes him particularly proud and is a driving force for his passion for private equity. He is specialized in a broad range of areas, from telecom and software to education and Fintech. And he sees Apax Partners as a unique player in terms of culture, history and sector expertise. Above all, Damien likes to be surprised and constantly discover and learn new things. That’s what he finds so particularly appealing about Tech & Telecom, in which he’s extremely active. It’s a space in which the surprises never stop! In addition to his curious nature, Damien is open, patient and a good listener. He is greatly inspired by disruptors and game-changers – entrepreneurs with big visions and bold out-of-the-box ideas. Damien earned engineering degrees from both École Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications in France and Universidad Politécnica de Madrid in Spain, and he holds an MBA from Columbia Business School in New York. He began his career as a Financial Auditor at Ernst & Young, then as an Investment Manager at Natixis, and a Consultant at McKinsey & Company, before finally joining Apax Partners (now Seven2) in 2007.
