Erol Uzumeri Bio

Mr. Uzumeri is a Founding Partner of Searchlight. He serves on the Investment Committee, Operating Committee and Valuation Committee, and is jointly responsible for overseeing the Firm’s activities with the two other Founding Partners. He serves on the portfolio company boards of Searchlight including Mitel and Roots and previously served as Chairman of the board of M&M Food Market. Prior to co-founding Searchlight, Mr. Uzumeri was the Head of Private Equity at Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan (“OTPP”). He was responsible for approximately $15 billion in invested and committed capital and 50 investment professionals with offices in Toronto, London and New York. He served as Chairman of the Private Equity Investment, Underwriting and Portfolio Management committees within OTPP. Previously, he was a vice president at CVC International in London where he evaluated, structured and executed a number of private equity investments. Mr. Uzumeri received a BASc in honors industrial engineering from the University of Toronto and an MSc in finance from the London Business School.
