Bio

Matteo Arpe is Founding Partner of the Sator Group, main shareholder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Sator S.p.A. He is also Chairman of Tinaba S.p.A., Arepo PV s.r.l. and CER - Centro Europa Ricerche S.r.l., and member of the board of Arepo LC s.r.l. From July 2003 to May 2007 he was CEO of the Capitalia banking Group. He joined the group of Banca di Roma in October 2001 as managing director of Mediocredito Centrale (a position he held until September 2005) and Director-General designate of the newly-formed holding Capitalia S.p.A. Before joining Capitalia, in 2000, Matteo Arpe worked at Lehman Brothers in London, with responsibility for the European strategic equity activity. Prior to this, he worked in Mediobanca’s Corporate Finance Department from 1987 to 1999, and in 1995 he assumed the coordination of Mediobanca’s equity and bond syndicate underwriting as well as M&A activity. In 1997, he was nominated Central Manager and assumed direct responsibility for the Investment Banking Department. Matteo Arpe has been also a member of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of Banca di Roma, Mediobanca, European Institute of Oncology (IEO) and the Italian Banking Association (ABI). In addition, he was a member of the Board of Directors of Mediocredito Centrale, Banco di Sicilia, CNP Capitalia Vita, Cerba Foundation, Banca Profilo S.p.A., Arepo BP S.p.A., Banzai S.p.A. He received a BA cum laude in Economics and Finance from Bocconi University in Milan.
