Phil Martin founded Salem Capital Partners in 1999, and brings significant investment, financial, and operating experience to the firm. While at Salem, he has overseen a number of the firm's most successful investments and helped advise many companies on their growth strategy and operational efficiencies. Prior to founding Salem, Phil was Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer of Central Air Conditioning Distributors, Inc., where he was responsible for the company's financial controls, strategy, and mergers and acquisitions. Prior to CAC, he served as Corporate Treasurer for Douglas Battery Manufacturing Company, with responsibility for all investment, financing, risk management, acquisition, and financial reporting activities. Prior to his tenure at Douglas, Phil was Controller at Integon Life, the insurance subsidiary of Integon Corporation. Phil is a veteran of the U.S. Army, graduate of Lenoir-Rhyne University, a Certified Public Accountant (1974-2013), a member of the American Institute of CPAs, and has completed study at the Venture Capital Institute.
