Ned Gilhuly is a Founding Partner of Sageview Capital. He is responsible for all aspects of Sageview’s business and sits on the firm’s Investment Committee as well as the Portfolio Committee. Prior to founding Sageview Capital, Ned was at Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co (KKR) for 19 years. He joined KKR in 1986 in San Francisco, became a partner in 1994, and from 1998 until 2004 he established and oversaw all aspects of KKR’s business in Europe. He also served on KKR’s Investment Committee from its inception in 2000 until his departure in 2005. Prior to KKR, Ned worked in mergers and acquisitions within Merrill Lynch Capital Markets. Ned graduated from Duke University Magna Cum Laude with a B.A. in History and Economics in 1982. He received an M.B.A. from the Graduate School of Business, Stanford University, where he was an Arjay Miller Scholar. Ned is a member of the Duke University Board of Trustees as well as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Duke Management Company. He is also a director of Legrand, SA (a CAC 40 company) and trustee emeritus of the California Academy of Sciences. An avid athlete and reader, Ned enjoys cycling, kiteboarding, golf, and skiing, mostly in Sun Valley, Idaho. His bedside table is always stacked with books; nowadays he primarily reads fiction, as well as history and biography.
