Craig Kahler is a Senior Director, Private Equity and is based in New York. He is responsible for all aspects of the investment process including sourcing, transaction structuring, financing and executing growth, operational, and add-on acquisition strategies. Prior to joining Safanad, Mr. Kahler was a Portfolio Manager of Private Capital at BlueMountain Capital, a global alternatives asset manager with more than $20 billion under management. Prior to joining BlueMountain, Mr. Kahler was a Principal in H.I.G. Capital’s Middle Market buyout group in New York after having started in 2007 as a member of H.I.G’ s lower middle market buyout group in Miami. Mr. Kahler began his private equity career in 2003 at Willis Stein & Partners, a Chicago based middle market private equity firm. Prior to that, Mr. Kahler was a member of the Global Energy and Chemicals team in the investment banking division of Credit Suisse First Boston where he worked on a variety of debt, equity and advisory assignments. He holds an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a B.A., magna cum laude, in International Politics & Economics and German from Middlebury College.
