Bio

Jason is Co-Founder and Managing Member of Riverstone and a member of the firm's investment committee. He is responsible for leading and managing the firm and for sourcing, evaluating and managing investments. Jason has over 18 years of investment banking experience and has actively participated in the execution of middle-market acquisitions, recapitalizations, growth financings, and divestitures, closing over 100 transactions valued at over $18 billion. Prior to forming Riverstone, Jason was Managing Director and head of financial services investment banking at Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. ("Oppenheimer"), where he was responsible for originating and closing investment banking transactions for commercial banks, thrifts and specialty finance companies. In 2010, Jason initiated and lead the execution of a $200 million private placement of common stock for First Michigan Bancorp, Inc. (now Talmer Bancorp, Inc.), a transaction in which Oppenheimer acted as sole placement agent and W.H. Ross & Co. participated as lead investor. Jason began his career at Oppenheimer in 2001 as a Vice President and lead the initial formation of the firm's financial services group. Prior to Oppenheimer, Jason spent four years as an Associate in the investment banking department of Raymond James & Associates, Inc. Jason began his investment banking career in 1994 as as an Analyst in the Chicago office of CS First Boston where he focused on analyzing and structuring investment banking transactions across a wide range of industries. Jason graduated magna cum laude from Hillsdale College with a B.A. in Finance.
