Mr. Birdwell is a seasoned executive that has founded and successfully built several companies focused on environmental, infrastructure, and logistics services. Mr. Birdwell began his career in 1989 by founding Recon Services (“RECON”), a market-leading provider of environmental remediation and geotechnical services to industrial and energy end markets. Mr. Birdwell, who is a geological engineer and a foremost expert in environmental remediation, founded the company to meet the growing demand for specialized services created by new and expanded environmental regulations. Over 25 years, Mr. Birdwell grew RECON into a national leader in remediation services, performing over $1 billion in remediation projects worldwide. Most recently, Mr. Birdwell founded and served as CEO of GT Logistics, a multi-modal liquids terminal that supplies storage, rail, barge, truck and ship trans-loading. Mr. Birdwell currently serves on the board of directors of RECON and GT Logistics and acts as the President and CEO of Golden Triangle Properties, a heavy industrial real estate development located in the southeast Texas petrochemical complex. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Geology from Baylor University, and he earned his Masters in Geological Engineering from Missouri School of Science and Engineering.
