Bio

Alec Scheiner is a Partner at RedBird Capital Partners, where he is responsible for overseeing investment opportunities and advisory efforts for RedBird Sports Group. In his current role, Alec helps to manage RedBird Sports Group (“RSG”), as subsidiary of RedBird’s management company. RedBird Sports Group is a merchant bank that brings together in-house operating capabilities, advisory expertise and flexible long-term capital to enable more professionalized ownership of sports assets in partnership with rights holders. In line with this merchant banking philosophy, RedBird Sports Group will look to advise, operate and invest in high growth platform companies in a holistic, integrated approach that unlocks greater value for sports teams, leagues and other rights holders over a longer-term trajectory. Prior to joining RedBird in 2016, Alec served as President of the Cleveland Browns from 2012 through 2016. He joined the Browns after spending eight years with the Dallas Cowboys, initially as General Counsel and ultimately as the sole non-ownership Senior Vice President. As President of the Browns, Alec oversaw all business functions of the team including revenue generation, stadium operations, finance; legal, human resources, technology, business analytics, content creation, football analytics, and fan engagement. During Alec’s tenure, despite the fact that the team averaged only 4 wins a season, the Browns experienced an unprecedented business turnaround – the team set sales records for season ticket sales, club seat sales, suite sales, and corporate partnership sales. The team increased its gate revenue by almost 20% over this time period and had the second fastest growing corporate partnership revenue in the NFL. Alec also spearheaded a two-year $130 million stadium renovation project that was completed on time and on budget as well as a $20 million renovation of the Browns' practice facility. In both of these projects, Alec negotiated directly with the public entities to obtain significant public contributions to the projects, and Alec oversaw the project design and construction.
