Jay is a Partner and the Co-Head of Quilvest’s Direct Private Equity Program based in New York focused on sourcing and closing buyout, leveraged recapitalization and growth equity investments in the U.S. and Canada. At Quilvest, Jay serves or has served on the Board of Directors of the following portfolio companies: Small Tubes Products (niche manufacturer of redrawn copper tube), Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza (casual dining restaurant chain), Crown Health Care Laundry Service (outsourced provider of linen services), Metro Franchising (largest Dunkin Donuts franchisee in the New York City metropolitan area), Luke’s Seafood (vertically integrated manufacturer and fast casual restaurant chain), Creative Extruded Products (manufacturer of extruded plastic products primarily serving the automotive segment) American Franchise Capital (Taco Bell and Applebee’s franchisee), Phaidon International (a multi-brand global staffing business) and QS Imaging (integrated provider to the diagnostic imaging equipment maintenance and repair market). Jay also has served as a Board Observer at Shock Doctor (branded sporting goods primarily focused on safety and performance). Prior to joining Quilvest in 2010, Jay was a Principal at Centre Partners, a middle market private equity firm with over $3.0 billion of assets under management. During his tenure at Centre, Jay served on the Board of Directors or as a Board Observer of the following portfolio companies: Ross Aviation (one of largest fixed base operators in the U.S.), Distant Lands Trading Co. (vertically integrated manufacturer of private label coffee), Orion International (specialty staffing business) and Maverick Media (owner of radio stations in small to medium sized markets). Before joining Centre Partners, Jay was a Senior Associate at Catterton Partners, one of the leading consumer-focused middle market private equity firms, with over $2.0 billion of assets under management. Prior to Catterton, Jay was a Senior Analyst in investment banking at Legg Mason, focused on mergers and acquisitions, public and private offerings of debt and equity securities and financial advisory services, primarily for middle market and emerging growth companies. Jay graduated with distinction from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business with his Bachelor of Business Administration. Originally from Montreal, Canada, he is married and lives in New York City with his wife, daughter and son.
