Doug founded Pulse on the basis of creating a 21st century private equity firm focused on health, nutrition and active lifestyle. Doug has spent the past fourteen years partnering with entrepreneurs and building companies in health, activity and wellness. Doug co-founded Prospira PainCare, Pulse’s first investment and has led the Boards of Directors and major initiatives with businesses such as CRC Health, Equinox Fitness Clubs, Performance Bicycle, Grand Expeditions and World Health Clubs. He has spent significant amounts of time within the natural and organic food and beverage arenas; the active lifestyle industry, including fitness, yoga, spinning and Pilates; and the healthcare sectors, including diabetes, sleep apnea and other forms of behavioral healthcare.Prior to founding Pulse Equity Partners in 2010, Doug was an original partner at North Castle Partners and was a senior partner for twelve years. In a former life, Doug spent seventeen years as an investment banker focused on leveraged finance. His career took him from Oppenheimer and Drexel Burnham in early days, to SBC Warburg Dillon Read, which later became UBS.Doug received a BA in Economics from Washington University in St. Louis and an MBA in Finance from the Stern School of Business at New York University.
