Bio

Mr. Wetmore is a Managing Director and a founding Partner of Post Oak Energy Capital. He is on the firm’s investment committee and serves on the Boards of the portfolio companies. Prior to joining Post Oak, Mr. Wetmore was with Royal Dutch Shell’s Corporate/Global Mergers, Acquisitions & Financing organization. Mr. Wetmore was the project lead or co-lead on efforts where his management activities included collaboration with engineering and geological team members as well as guiding the efforts of land, legal, tax and finance team members. In addition to upstream transactions, Mr. Wetmore worked on a number of projects (organic growth, acquisitions/divestments and strategy) for numerous Shell divisions. Previously, Mr. Wetmore was part of Shell’s Global Acquisition and Divestment group. Mr. Wetmore’s responsibilities included the evaluation of upstream acquisitions, divestments, joint ventures and dilutions in the Western Hemisphere as well as divestiture of certain public securities held by Shell. Additionally, Mr. Wetmore worked with a number of external capital providers to generate finance options for capitalizing various projects and diversifying risk. Mr. Wetmore joined Shell Capital in 2001 as Vice President of Business Development, during which time he managed the origination efforts in North America and the expansion of Shell Capital’s financial product offering beyond upstream mezzanine facilities (e.g. power and equity). Prior to joining Shell, Mr. Wetmore was Vice President of Marketing for Madison Energy Advisors, where he was responsible for marketing, negotiating and closing approximately $1 billion in upstream divestments. Before Madison, he was with Cornerstone Ventures where he worked on midstream consulting assignments and upstream divestments. Mr. Wetmore began his career in energy with M.D. International, a contractor for Enron Oil & Gas, securing drilling rights in the Caspian region. Mr. Wetmore is a founding member of the A&D Forum (formerly the Houston A&D Organization, the largest energy A&D organization in Houston), a member of the Independent Petroleum Association of America, the Texas Independent Producers and Royalty Owners, the Houston Producers Forum and the Society of Petroleum Engineers. Mr. Wetmore received an M.B.A. from the University of Houston and a B.A. in International Relations from the University of San Diego.
