Bio

Charlie began his energy career working extended summers for Mercury Drilling and Mosbacher Production while earning a geology degree from Williams College. In the mid-80s, he joined Manufacturers Hanover Trust before attending Columbia Business School. Following business school he spent six years at Banque Paribas where he helped start the energy lending business, executed the initial commodity swap supported financings and invested in producing properties in Michigan, Colorado and the San Juan Basin of New Mexico. ​ Charlie went on to help start Legacy Partners, an M&A boutique that grew to 20 professionals before a successful sale to FBR Capital Markets. He stayed at FBR to run the energy banking group before moving to Nomura to build its energy practice. Over his long career, Charlie has executed numerous acquisition financings, M&A transactions, IPOs and private capital raises for his small and mid-sized clients.
