José A. Briones, Jr. joined PennantPark in December 2009 and is a Senior Partner. He is responsible for and oversees originating, underwriting, executing, and monitoring investments for the Firm, and serves as a Portfolio Manager. He also oversees various strategic initiatives for the Firm. Most recently he was a Partner of Apollo Investment Management, L.P. and a member of its investment committee since 2006. Before that, he was a Managing Director with UBS Securities LLC in the Financial Sponsors and Leveraged Finance Group from 2001 to 2006. Before joining UBS, he was a Vice President with JP Morgan in the Global Leveraged Finance Group from 1999 to 2001. From 1992 to 1999, José was a Vice President at BT Securities and BT Alex Brown Inc. in the Corporate Finance Department. José holds an AB in Economics from Princeton University.
