Mr. Sampson is the co-founder of Pacific Growth Investors which he started in 2016 after cofounding and leading all of the private equity investment activities at Vintage Fund Management for the past fifteen years starting in 2002. PGI continues to manage all of the prior legacy Vintage Capital Partners private equity funds. At Vintage, Mr. Sampson was responsible for the development of the investment strategy as well as leading all of the day to day aspects of the private equity investment activity for the firm. Mr. Sampson was head of the investment committee for the prior two Vintage private equity funds, in addition to recruiting the investment team members including Mr. Thomas Webster in 2007. Mr. Sampson began his career in commercial banking, providing leveraged loan products to lower middle market businesses, culminating his banking career as the head of the west coast credit product portfolio for CS First Boston’s corporate investment banking group. After his banking career, Mr. Sampson held senior level roles with several private equity firms in Los Angeles before co-founding the private equity investing activities at Vintage. Since starting the private equity investment firm at Vintage, Mr. Sampson has served in interim senior level management roles with certain portfolio companies, holding board positions and leading the operating committee with the majority of the Vintage and PGI investments. Mr. Sampson has been a guest lecturer and speaker at Harvard Business School, Pepperdine University, the UCLA Anderson School of Management, as well as the Association for Corporate Growth among other organizations. Mr. Sampson received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and his MBA from Pepperdine University.
