Bio

Maggie Fanari is based in London and leads High Conviction Equities (HCE), a platform which crosses over both public and private markets across most sectors globally. The HCE mandate is comprised of two complimentary investment strategies which includes Global Active Equities and Alternative capital solutions (ACS). Global Active Equities is a high conviction stock picking strategy premised on bottom up deep sector expertise led approach to investing in the common equity of publicly traded companies globally that aims to deliver above benchmark returns over time. Alternative Capital Solutions (ACS) is a flexible capital mandate focused on minority transactions in: Private companies (Growth Equity and Pre-IPO situations), Structured Equity (instruments including Converts, Prefs), and transactional situations in Public companies (Blocks, IPOs, PIPEs, SPACs). The HCE platform is synergistic crossing over between public and private equities and with a unique selling proposition enables us to invest earlier and stay invested longer with founders and companies across the globe, while providing differentiated and flexible financing solutions. Maggie has been with Ontario Teachers' since 2006 and has a breadth of experience that spans early- and late-stage investing in public and private markets. Prior to joining her role in HCE, she was responsible for supporting the development of the global strategy for Teachers’ Venture Growth (TVG) and the execution of that strategy. Before helping establish TVG, Maggie held senior roles in the Relationship Investing department, the predecessor to HCE. Earlier in her career she was an auditor at KPMG and worked in equity research at Scotia Capital. Maggie is a Chartered Accountant and a CFA Charterholder. She also holds a BBA from the Schulich School of Business at York University and ICD.D certification from the Institute of Corporate Directors.
