Prior to OceanSound, Mr. Benavides was a Partner at Veritas Capital where he primarily focused on investments in industrial, government, enterprise, and communications technology companies. Mr. Benavides is currently on the board of directors of the parent of Trident Technologies, LLC and Smartronix, LLC and formerly served on the boards of directors of Abaco Systems, Inc., Aeroflex Holding Corp., Anaren, Inc., Aptim Corp., KeyPoint Government Solutions, Inc., OnSolve, LLC and Vencore, Inc. (formerly known as The SI Organization, Inc.). Prior to joining Veritas in 2007, Mr. Benavides was a Managing Director at The Blackstone Group. Prior to The Blackstone Group, Mr. Benavides was at Credit Suisse First Boston and Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette. Mr. Benavides received a B.S. in Economics with a concentration in Finance, cum laude, from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and an M.B.A. in Finance from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Benavides holds a Top Secret Clearance, has been on the board of the Cuba Study Group, and is fluent in Spanish.
