Bio

Grant, a founding partner of North River Capital LLC, graduated from high school in Idaho Falls, Idaho in 1981. He received his bachelor’s degree in Natural Resources Ecology from Colorado State University and then his MBA in Finance and Accounting from the University of Tennessee. While starting his career, Grant spent 11 years in various management roles in operational, financial, and administrative capacities. He also worked in a variety of industries including Tier 1 automotive, consumer product manufacturing, underground mining, and chemical processing. All of these experiences eventually led Grant to his 11-year tenure as Vice President of Strategic Development at OmniSource Corporation. In this role, he helped to develop and implement strategies that helped to grow OmniSource from a strong regional company to the largest scrap metal processor in North America. In addition, he was responsible for Mergers & Acquisitions during a period where the company started or acquired and integrated more than forty-five facilities. Grant and other senior executives from OmniSource resigned and formed North River Capital. Grant's experience as a collegiate bull-rider prepared him for the ups & downs in the rodeo of parenting his and his wife's two daughters. When not in the office, Grant can typically be found in the barn, wrangling the variety of animals that make their home on his family's farm.
