Bio

Danny Rifkin is a founding partner of North River Capital LLC. He had previously been President and CEO of OmniSource Corporation, and a member of its Board of Directors. His tenure there spanned 31 years. After the sale of the company to Steel Dynamics, Inc. (NASDAQ), in October 2007, Rifkin was named Executive VP of SDI, President and Chief Operating Officer of its Metals Recycling Segment, and elected to SDI's Board of Directors for the second time. In July 2008, Rifkin, along with other senior executives of OmniSource resigned from all positions at SDI to found North River Capital. Danny was also a founder of the Fort Wayne Center for Learning, a not-for-profit organization that provides specialized developmental services to children with processing-based learning disabilities. He served as Board President of FWCL from 2003-2010 and is a Trustee of the Rifkin Family Foundation, which is engaged in philanthropic activities. He was born in 1954, is a native of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and graduated from Elmhurst High School. He attended The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and earned a B.S. degree from the University of Miami in 1977.
