Bio

Martin Chavez is a co-founder and Managing Partner of NMS. Mr. Chavez has more than 20 years of private equity, general management and investment banking experience and supervises all investment activities of NMS. Prior to forming NMS in 2010, Mr. Chavez was a Managing Director in the Merchant Banking Division of Goldman Sachs. Mr. Chavez was one of the two senior members charged with investing in and leading the group of portfolio companies acquired by NMS from Goldman Sachs. Prior to joining the Merchant Banking Division of Goldman Sachs in 2004, Mr. Chavez spent five years in the Investment Banking Division of Goldman Sachs and one year in the Principal Investment Area of Goldman Sachs. During his tenure in the Investment Banking Division, Mr. Chavez specialized in the area of mergers and acquisitions, advising publicly and privately held corporations across a wide array of industries in the industrial and business services sectors. Between 1997 and 1998, Mr. Chavez was an Associate at SBC Warburg. Between 1993 and 1995, Mr. Chavez was an Engineer for 3M Corporation focusing on manufacturing operations. Mr. Chavez is currently a member of the Board of Directors of ettain, ADM, Avaap, Geoscape, Omni Eye, and CORDENTAL. Mr. Chavez was formerly a Board member of H2O, Global Novations, MCCI, and SunCrest Healthcare. Mr. Chavez received an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School in 1997 and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan in 1993. Mr. Chavez has also completed the Harvard Business School Executive Education Board of Directors Leadership program.
