Bio

Laurel serves as Head of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG), applying her years of sustainability knowledge and ESG experience to NGP and its portfolio companies. Her key focus is integrating ESG performance into strategy and core business operations within the energy industry and acts as Chair of the ESG Committee. She joined NGP in 2022. Prior to NGP, Laurel served as Director of Sustainability at NRG Energy in Houston, where she set industry-leading, science-based carbon-reduction goals and focused on engaging management and the board to address key ESG issues. Prior to her work with NRG, she spent time as a strategy and management consultant at a sustainability consulting firm in California. Laurel earned a B.A. from Claremont McKenna College and an M.B.A. with a sustainable business emphasis from San Francisco State University.
