Mr. Patterson joined NGP in 2016 and serves as Partner of the NGP funds. Mr. Patterson is responsible for Investor Relations and focuses on the firm’s capital raising and investor relations activities. He brings nearly 20 years of financial and legal experience to the firm’s investment activities and sits on the firm’s Investment Committee, Monitoring Committee and Investment Process Committee. Prior to joining NGP, Mr. Patterson was an Investment Manager with the University of Notre Dame Investment Office where he oversaw Notre Dame’s global energy efforts, including sourcing, underwriting, and investing in the upstream, services, midstream and power sectors. Before joining the University of Notre Dame, Mr. Patterson was an Attorney with Goodwin Procter LLP in Boston, MA and Verrill Dana LLP, where he specialized in private equity, complex merger and acquisitions transactions and joint-venture transactions. In 2014, Mr. Patterson was recognized by Oil and Gas Investor Magazine as one of the Top 20 Under 40 in Energy Finance. Mr. Patterson graduated cum laude from the University of Notre Dame in May 1999. He received a Juris Doctor in 2003 from Boston College Law School and is a CFA Charter Holder.
