Bio

Martin Sobol has over 20 years of private equity, mergers & acquisitions (M&A) and operations experience, including serving as President of Sobol Consulting LLC, an M&A firm which invested with and provided strategic consulting to private equity firms and their portfolio companies; Managing Director at Abacus Ventures LLC, a Dallas-based private equity firm which invested in middle market companies; and as a Manager in the Middle Market Services Group at Deloitte LLP, working with high growth companies and private equity firms. During this time, Mr. Sobol invested in a number of companies and was in a leadership role on multiple mergers, acquisitions, recapitalizations, private-equity roll-ups, IPOs, private offerings and strategic consulting for companies ranging in size from middle-market to Fortune 100 and on transactions totaling more than $1 billion. He has also served as CFO and in other operational roles for private-equity backed retail companies, developing and executing strategic plans which resulted in significant company growth and high exit multiples. While at Deloitte, Mr. Sobol also spent time in Russia shortly after the fall of communism, assisting a Russian company through the IPO process. ​​​​​ Mr. Sobol devotes a substantial amount of his free time to charities, including Team-in-Training (TNT), the fundraising arm for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society for which he has raised significant funds by running marathons.​​​​ ​​​​​​ Mr. Sobol is a CPA and earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting and a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance and Marketing from McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin. While completing his MBA, he led a yearlong study for the Dean of the Graduate School of Business on developing a venture capital fund and curriculum at The University of Texas at Austin and launched a self-funded startup upon graduation​.​​​​
