Bio

Alvi Abuaf joined Motive Partners in 2016 and is an Industry Partner. At Motive, Alvi sources and executes investment opportunities with a focus on strategy and growth for Motive portfolio companies, through his extensive experience across investment management, consumer and commercial banking, capital markets and real estate sectors. His area of expertise includes business and operations strategy, operations planning and business control, technology implementation and outsourcing. Prior to the acquisition of InvestCloud, Alvi served as a member of the board of directors of Tegra118. Alvi continues to serve at InvestCloud, where he leads on the execution of the middle and back-office value creation plans. Prior to joining Motive Partners, Alvi was responsible for the Financial Services Consulting Practice at Capgemini NA where he provided growth strategy, digital strategy, digital transformation, operational optimization and regulatory compliance consulting services to financial institutions. Prior to joining Capgemini, he served as chief executive officer of Capco North America, a global management consultancy focused on the financial services industry. During his tenure, Alvi led numerous strategic projects with leading investment banks, brokerages, fund companies, asset managers and other financial institutions across key global centers. Previously, Alvi served as managing director of global strategy and program management at Citi. He also served as president and chief executive officer of CPM Braxis USA and formerly led the Financial Services Industry Practice as the managing partner at Ernst & Young/Capgemini, founding the E&Y FinTech Incubator. Alvi earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering from SUNY Buffalo and a M.S. from Columbia University. He has also completed certificate programs at Harvard Business School and Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
