Bio

As an Operating Partner, Gerry serves Michigan Capital Advisors as an executive advisor, industry advisor, Board Director, investment partner, and senior operating leader assisting with deal sourcing, diligence, execution, and management. Gerry has held senior leadership roles for several privately-held and private equity-sponsored companies, including portfolio companies for Wynnchurch Capital, The Carlyle Group, and the Questor Fund. His global industry expertise spans automotive, defense, energy/oil & gas, medium- and heavy-duty trucks, off-highway, rail, agriculture, and other specialty vehicles, and industrial power transmission machinery and equipment. Gerry most recently served as President and C.E.O. of Fabco Automotive Corporation, a Wynnchurch portfolio company and a worldwide supplier of heavy duty drivetrain, powertrain, and industrial power transmission systems. Gerry recently executed the sale of the business to Meritor Specialty Products, earning The M&A Advisor’s Restructuring Deal of the Year Award in the $25M-50M Category. Prior to his leadership role at Fabco, Gerry served as President and General Manager of AxleTech International. Gerry joined AxleTech in 2006 as Vice President Business Development when The Carlyle Group acquired the company. He remained with AxleTech following the sale of the business to General Dynamics and was appointed President and General Manager. Prior to AxleTech, Gerry was Vice President Operational Effectiveness for Questor Fund’s Italy-based Teksid Aluminum, a $1.2B global supplier of automotive powertrain components. Prior to Teksid, Gerry had global profit and loss responsibility as Senior Vice President of CHEP Global Automotive Services. Gerry has significant senior-level international experience working both domestically and internationally for TRW Automotive, LucasVarity Automotive, AlliedSignal (now Honeywell), and Delphi. Gerry began his career in finance and planning for General Motors. Gerry holds a master’s degree in business administration from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a bachelor’s degree in industrial administration from General Motors Institute (now Kettering University). Gerry currently serves as a member of the Advisory Board of CulturSys, Inc. Gerry has also served as an elected trustee on the Board of Trustees for the National Truck Equipment Association (NTEA). Gerry participates as a member of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG), Private Directors Association, National Advanced Mobility Consortium (NAMC), Defense Automotive Technologies Consortium (DATC), National Armaments Consortium (NAC), Association of the U.S. Army (AUSA), National Defense Industries Association (NDIA), and AREMA (American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association).
