Mercury Partners is a privately funded investment company looking to acquire and operate lower middle-market founder-owned businesses. Mercury’s focus is on U.S. companies with revenue of $10 to $50 million that operate in the business services and financial services industries. Mercury Partners is managed by Brad de Koning. Mr. de Koning has over 25 years of principal investing and CEO experience all of which have been dedicated to the lower middle-market. Most recently he was CEO of L.A. Spas, a manufacturer of portable hot tubs, swim spas and gazebos. Previously, Mr. de Koning was a Managing Director of Sage Capital Partners, the private equity arm of The Sage Group, LLC. He was a General Partner and co-founder of Mercury Partners, a Los Angeles-based private equity firm and the predecessor to Sage Capital Partners. Prior to that, Mr. de Koning was with Trident Capital, a venture capital firm that financed and acquired information and business services companies. Earlier in his career, he worked at the U.S. Department of Commerce and the U.S. Department of Treasury. Mr. de Koning is responsible for all aspects of Mercury’s investment process including identifying and screening potential targets, negotiating LOIs, managing business, legal and accounting due diligence, coordinating third party financing and leading the execution and documentation of all acquisitions. Upon closing, he will assume day-to-day operating responsibility of acquired assets.
