Chip assists in the overall management of the firm and is responsible for development of investment theses, origination of new investment opportunities, due diligence, deal structuring, negotiations, transaction execution and portfolio management. Prior to founding May River Capital, Chip was a Principal and Managing Director at Wynnchurch Capital, a Chicago based middle market private equity firm, from 2000 to 2011. While at Wynnchurch, Chip participated in numerous investment platforms and add-on acquisitions across a variety of industries including niche manufacturing, supply chain / logistics, commercial services, specialty transportation and building products. Chip was involved in all facets of the investment process including identifying, qualifying, structuring, negotiating, financing and documenting private equity investments of $5M to $40M. He participated extensively in originating new investment opportunities having developed and cultivated a strong network of deal intermediaries. Prior to joining Wynnchurch, Chip worked in leveraged finance and investment banking at GE Capital, Salomon Smith Barney, and A.G. Edwards & Sons. Chip holds a B.A. from Duke University and a M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
