Dan Drury, a Managing Director, is responsible for leading all tax operations of the firm, including tax strategy, planning, tax structuring, manager placement, and compliance. He also assists Makena’s investors to minimize global tax leakage and maximize their after-tax returns. Prior to joining Makena, Dan was the Head of Tax for Advantage Capital Partners for seven years, where he led all tax aspects of the firm, including tax planning, M&A, projections, and compliance, as well as many matters of the investment funds and underlying investors. Dan began his career with PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he concentrated in tax consulting and compliance for investment management and alternative asset clients. Dan earned an M.A. in Accountancy and a B.S. from the College of Business at the University of Missouri, Columbia, and is an active CPA.
