Bio

Tim has spent his career implementing lean business practices, including all of the kaizen activities that are associated with the Toyota Production System as well as infrastructure development and management. He focuses on building proper business practices through training of strategic and tactical forms of lean operations and manufacturing that can be applied to any organization looking to improve profits, production and presence to local or global customers. Prior to joining LongWater, Tim was President and Founder of Catalyst Associates, a consulting firm specializing in lean business practices. He has successfully delivered results for organizations of all sizes and across a range of industries, including industrial, manufacturing, education, and hospital administration. Tim began his career in manufacturing and operations at The HON Company, a global manufacturer of office furniture, where he served in a number of roles, including design engineer, kaizen department manager, and ultimately plant manager. As plant manager, he oversaw several hundred million dollars of production volume and managed hundreds of employees. Tim graduated from Iowa State University with a BS in Mechanical Engineering, and in his spare time, he enjoys working on old cars, designing and building homes, and riding bikes. In fact, Tim has ridden his bike across the state of Iowa six times.
