Joel Trammell is a co-founder and managing partner of Lone Rock Technology Group. Joel’s achievements in information technology span more than three decades, including numerous leadership positions and successful company exits. Most recently, Joel was CEO and co-founder of Cache IQ, a provider of enterprise data storage solutions based on an innovative, intelligent caching technology. Joel orchestrated the company’s acquisition by NetApp in November 2012, resulting in a 7x return on capital for its private equity investors in less than three years. In 1999, Joel co-founded NetQoS and led it to become one of the fastest growing technology companies in the U.S. With a customer base including over half of the Fortune 100, NetQoS was the leader in application-centric network management. The company was acquired by CA Technologies in 2009, generating a greater than 10x return on capital for its private equity investors. Prior to NetQoS, Joel held executive positions at UST Computers and HomeSmart, a company that he co-founded to provide sales and marketing products for the residential construction industry. Joel is currently Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Austin Technology Council. He holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Louisiana Tech University.
