Chris is responsible for identifying management teams across the South looking to grow their business with the support of a private equity partner. Based in Reading, he works side-by-side with management throughout the investment partnership to help them realise their growth ambitions. Chris focuses on the technology sector and since joining LDC in 2015 has led the investments in cloud data business Aker Systems, e-commerce fulfilment specialist James & James, recruitment technology provider Amberjack, HR software provider CIPHR and advanced filtration specialist BOFA International. Chris has also led the successful exits of CIPHR to ECI Partners and BOFA International to Donaldson Inc, after supporting these businesses to deliver earnings growth of more than 40% per annum. He was also involved with Property Software Group and its exit to Zoopla plc. In addition, Chris played an important role in LDC’s partnership and subsequent exits of testing and measurement asset provider Microlease, which saw the business expand in the UK and overseas through six complementary acquisitions, and also supported Equiom with a global buy-and-build strategy of more than 25 acquisitions which grew earnings by 400% in five years. After qualifying as a chartered accountant in 2004 at Reed Business School, Chris previously spent 10 years in Grant Thornton’s M&A team as a Director, with a focus on software and technology-led businesses.
