Ruth was a Managing Director at Lion Chemical Capital from 2010 to 2013, after having previously served as CFO of two publicly-traded chemical companies: Westlake Chemical, a manufacturer of petrochemicals and fabricated products (from 2003 to 2005), and TPC Group, North America’s largest producer of finished butadiene and other specialized chemicals (from 2005 to 2010). Her CFO responsibilities included finance, accounting, treasury, IT, procurement, strategic planning and corporate development. Before joining Westlake, Ruth served as an investment banker for over twenty-one years with J.P. Morgan Securities and predecessor companies, focusing mainly on leveraged buyouts and private equity transactions in the chemicals and related industries, progressing to Managing Director of Investment Banking in the Global Chemicals Group. She currently serves on the board of directors of Targa Resources Partners, Gevo and Versar, and has previously served on the boards of US Silica, Georgia Gulf and Westlake. She received her undergraduate degree from New College of Florida and a Masters in International Affairs from Columbia University.
