A private equity pioneer, David co-founded Lion Chemical Capital, LLC in 2001, a private equity firm focused on investing in businesses operating in the chemical and materials industries. In 1984, he co-founded McCown DeLeeuw & Co. (“MDC”), a U.S. private equity firm that raised over $1.2 billion in four limited partnerships, and invested in 40 leveraged platform acquisitions, and over 100 add-ons. Prior to founding MDC , David led the leveraged acquisition group at Citibank, and previously served with W.R. Grace & Co and Paine Webber in New York and Tokyo. In 2005, David co-founded Lion Cao Asset Management, and investment management firm focused on private equity, direct investments, co-investments and funds. He has also served as a visiting lecturer at Columbia Business School and Harvard College, and has served on at least 25 Boards since 1984. David received an MBA in finance from Columbia University and a BA in history from Lafayette College.
