Tim Purcell is one of the founding partners of Linzor Capital Partners. Mr. Purcell previously worked for almost twenty years at J.P. Morgan in the investment banking and private equity areas. He started his career in New York in 1986 in the Latin American Mergers and Acquisitions group, which he co-headed from 1996 to 1999. In 2000, he became Managing Partner of J.P. Morgan Partners Latin America, L.P., one of the leading private equity funds in the region. As one of the Senior Partners in J.P. Morgan’s private equity organization, Mr. Purcell was also responsible for overseeing the firm’s global investment portfolio. Mr. Purcell has served on a large number of Latin American corporate boards, including Nortel Inversora, Patagon.com, Banco Mercantil, Commercebank NA, Almacenes Exito, Latasa S.A., Cinemex S.A. de C.V., Grupo Convermex S.A. de C.V., Casa Marzam S.A. de C.V., BOPP Holdings, Celulosa Arauco S.A., Cruz del Sur Vida S.A., Parque Arauco S.A., Movie Entertainment Latin America, Cruz Blanca S.A., Corporación Santo Tomás S.A., and TIP de Mexico SAPI de CV, among others. He also serves on a number of non-profit boards including International House, Enseña Chile, The Nature Conservancy (Chilean Advisory Board), Teach For All (Global Advisory Council), and Ashoka (Chilean Advisory Board). Mr. Purcell holds a BA in Economics from Cornell University, a Masters in International Studies from the University of Pennsylvania, and an MBA from the Wharton School.
